When traveling this summer you might consider some of the more interesting places to stay over night while on your way. There are some very interesting places to stay, some you may not want to bring your kids to, others you may want to bring the whole family. There are the luxury hotels that pamper you, or there are others that are know for scaring and exciting you. Here are a few of the best hotels that I found most interesting.

One place to visit if you are not squeamish about sleeping under water would be the Poseidon Undersea Resort. It is a 5 star resort, and is located in Fiji. Each guest has a personal Triton submarine to explore the lagoon. Or go on a 16 passenger submarine to the lower depths of the ocean. It may still be under construction, however, the resort is located 40 feet under water, and seems like a very fun way to spend a vacation, under the beach instead of on top. Another underwater resort is the Hydropolis. It is located in Dubai. The cost is high, but if you have the money, and the time, why not? The cost to build was only $550 million, built 66 feet below water. It will have a transparent train tunnel that will connect you to land and the sea. The hotel is shaped like a jelly fish, and has about 220 bubble shaped rooms. All have clear glass even the bath tub. Prepare to share your world with the sea creatures.

There are also hotels that appeal to those who may want a discreet meeting with a mistress or lover, but not have the seedy look of an off road hotel. There are hotels made for couples who are having an affair, or maybe even pretending to have one to spice up their love life. Obviously the more money you pay, the better the service and the seclusion. The staff are discrete, and the couples are left alone. Some resorts allow for your own private pool, courtesy massages, private beach, or your own private hut, allowing you the privacy to do what you want with the privacy needed. The more secluded the motel or resort, the better.

Another type of hotel you may want to visit are hotels that not only have a historical past, but ghosts living there as well. Haunted hotels are quite popular. San Diego has a hotel with a ghost, called the Hotel Del Coronado. Built in 1888, it seems to have complaints of odd noises, faces and glimpses of ghostly female figures wearing black lace dresses. The story of the ghost is about a lady named Kate Morgan. It seems she checked in and was waiting for her husband. He never arrived, and she was later found dead on the beach from a gunshot. The belief is that her spirit still haunts the hotel, and is the cause of noise, “ghostly cold spots” and a number of ghost sightings. There was even a sighting by the late President Ford who had stayed in her room.

The Hotel Vendome , located in Prescott, AZ is another exciting hotel to stay at, if you like hauntings. Apparently, there was a hotel manager named Abby Byr, and she died in 1921 waiting for her husband to bring her medicine. He never returned, and she died. Apparently she is still waiting for her husband to return, and has been sighted numerous times.

These are just a few of the interesting places you can stay while traveling this spring or summer. Research more ideas, you may surprise your self and your family at the interesting hotels or motels to visit this year.
